Know What To Do With Time Off This Season

If you are sticking around Arlington, Texas this holiday season, you might be looking for festive things to do in lieu of travel. 

 

In addition to celebrating the season with family and friends, staying close to home gives you the perfect opportunity to get things done without the confines of school attendance or taking too much time off of work.  

 

If checking things off your to-do list is taking priority this winter break, don’t forget to note holiday hours at your favorite local establishments. This time of the year presents the perfect opportunity to sneak in an end-of-the year teeth cleaning or whitening as well. If that is something on your “wish list,” then give our office a call today! We’d just like to remind you that our offices will be closed December 24, 25, 26 and 31 as well as January 1 so we can spend time with our families, too. Don’t let these closures deter you, though! Schedule an appointment today so your insurance benefits don’t go unused.

2018 Arlington Holiday Lights Parade 

 

The Lights Parade is much more than just your traditional parade. It’s a full day of activities geared for light-lovers of all ages. Activities and entertainment begin at 2pm and the parade kicks off a at 6pm, culminating with the lighting of the Christmas tree. After the tree is lit, stay around for pictures with Santa and a screening of the movie Elf. The parade is on December 9th and starts at the corner of Main and Center Streets. 

 

Enchantment Arlington  

 

Enchantment Arlington is the closest you’ll get to the North Pole this side of the Arctic Circle! Located at Globe Life Park, participants (you must buy a ticket) can explore the largest Christmas light maze and take part in a magical scavenger hunt to help Santa find gifts hidden by his mischievous elf, Eddie. You can also lace up your skates at the outdoor skating rink and take a spin around the rink surrounded by glowing trees and lights. And finally, don’t forget to pack your wish list before visiting Santa and Mrs. Clause, and ask for those last-minute toys you want to see under your tree! 

 

Holiday in the Park at Six Flags 

 

Where else can you see over 8 1/2 miles of lights illuminated in the shape of the Texas flag? There is a reason that everything is bigger—and brighter—in Texas! Visit Six Flags to get your fill of holiday spirit and thrill rides all in one. If you’re hungry after traversing the park in search of the best rides, make sure to take advantage of special holiday treats like fireside s’mores and season-inspired funnel cakes. If dollar coasters aren’t your thing, Holiday in the Park also boasts sing-a-longs and holiday-themed shows that fit for the whole family! Holiday hours are limited, so make sure that check Six Flags’ website before hitting the park. 

 

Gaylord Texan ICE 

 

If you’re craving the cold—and we mean REALLY cold—then check out two million pounds of colorful ice sculptures at the ICE exhibit at the Gaylord Texan this year! Here you can experience favorite scenes from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer brought to life in this walk-through winter wonderland carved completely from ice. Bring your gloves, hats and maybe even hand-warmers, since they keep the room at a chilly 9 degrees. Don’t worry if you don’t think your winter jacket is warm enough, though—they even provide you with a parka perfect for North Pole-like conditions if you need it!
